After much hype and anticipation, American Gangster (the movie) will finally release this weekend, and American Gangster (the album) will be here next week! Although the bootleggers were pushing it this past week, many who have seen and heard have promised enjoyment. Me and the crew are rolling to see it during the midnight showing at the Grove. Hop online and get your ticket(s)–cause it will probably sell out–and meet us at the Grove in LA for American Gangster. ok, i must admit, i will be going to see this movie again. not so much b/c it was JUST.THAT.GOOD….but b/c i only really was able to stay awake for the about a quarter of the film. it was just waaaay past my bedtime. BUT, the fact that i’ll pay full price again to watch what i missed says a lot about the quarter that i DID see. and what i saw, i liked:
denzel, no one kills a man point-blank like denzel(’s characters) can.
and i’m seeing more and more of chiwetel ejiofor (an actor i’ve loved since i saw him in Dirty Pretty Things). funny how two Brit actors (ejiofor and idris elba) KILLED it as Harlem hustlers.

correction: ejiofer’s character was a carolinian….hustler.
